We had our chance 6/7 years ago, Pinto, at the start of the EV/battery storage revolution. At the time (circa 2016) there were only 3 battery gigafactories in the world and we had (still have) all the battery minerals necessary, including circa 50% of the integral component, being lithium, to make Oz the new Saudi Arabia of the new energy world. Fast forward 6/7 years, and there are now circa 300 battery gigafactories worldwide, with none operating in Oz and a few lithium chemical conversion factories still under construction outside China. All a missed opportunity that could have changed the economic face of prosperity for Oz in easily imaginable ways but for the backward dimwits of the LNP and their aversion to progress. Sure, we'll still make a $buck digging up those battery metals and selling it for a song, but man o' man what an opportunity lost.
