fault diagnosis , rebuilding of boards etc is not. For example I had a repair
yesterday where the bill was $440 and the two electronic parts involved were just over $20 !

That's about the cost of a new valve timing belt & water pump replacement. !

Generally speaking properly designed and constructed non wearing parts will last much longer than moving parts that rub and flex. EVs do of course have many components that do wear out but they have a lot less of them than any ICE vehicle.
