The coal fired electricity generators are mostly privately owned (Qld the exception)
so if there's prospects for coal fired generators , then investors will invest.

At present they are not.

IMO solar panelled cars are a likely prospect because the panels generate
DC which would make a trickle charger inverter unnecessary .
