At present they are not.

IMO solar panelled cars are a likely prospect because the panels generate
DC which would make a trickle charger inverter unnecessary .

They won’t invest because they can’t be sure the government won’t shut them down in future, and because they are getting a motza in taxpayer funded renewable subsidies, and the government funded ‘rewiring of the grid’.
