Goggle said so. Not arguing the toss- but they are Heavier.
However you can see they are lard arses & consume far far more resources to do effectively less & at the same time increasing Co2 into the atmosphere by front end loading....but not capturing the Co2 made in manufacturing.
Get the weight under 1500 kg for a start (tax them)..ie a much smaller battery. How far do they go - pottering araound the city or get a 10 fold increase in battery tech.....long way coming.
There is Not enough resources to do this & claim economy of scale as demand will drive prices down (demand curve more right, supply left as constrained ..new supply will be at a higher cost..unless govt are going to subsidise that as well & tax you more) as all easily mined materials have so been mined.
Need to dig deeper, pollute the ocean to gain what ...nothing.
And to fix a problem that does not exist.

I dont fight the trend & have been on board over a decade......doesn't make it right.
The only solution is to DO MORE with LESS to support a going population.
Inventors though history have only EVER made us consume more (Telsa/ Elon is No exception)
