Electricity prices have already skyrocketed and if EV uptake is on the up then the demand for electricity will only increase and costs will keep going up. Depreciation applies equally to EV's plus insurance costs are said to be higher.

In the end, car ownership is expensive and any cost pressures are borne by consumers - having lockdowns will save on some costs - during the last one, petrol was selling for under a dollar a litre for a while.
