IMO the big shock to the system will happen when Governments
super-tax petrol & diesel in order to force motorists into EVs/hybrids
because while the new car market is about 800,000 units P/A the used
car market is over 3 times that and there won't be enough used EVs
and hybrids to fill the gap.
Unfortunately its the over 75% of the Aus motorists who can't afford
a new EV will bear the financial brunt of the transition to EVs
Solution:
Relax the regulations on the import of good used Japanese EVs
and hybrids & offer a Government scrapage bonus to wreck
fuel guzzlers..say $3K... .. That happens from time to time in Europe
so what happens in Europe usually happens 5 years later here....eh?
