IMO - pretty much everything is up for grabs now and massive changes - full disruption is possible in almost all areas
AI alone will have an enormous impact ---------- and in AI --------- one area alone will have a monster impact ---------- materials technology
the newly discovered material - discovered by AI that may reduce Li in batteries by 70% -- whether it does or doesn't, it's discovery by AI is a signal that AI is clearly a gamechanger in materials research
and it's just begun. At the rate it will progress now - I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see a world that we almost don't recognise - in maybe 10 to 20 years.
Human society and industrialisation is at a point where things like new materials or new processes can be implemented like lightning,
the changes are truly going to be like tidal waves IMO
