    Mick, I'm not arguing your post, just the inclusion of [Prius type] hybrids with BEVs. They are, more accurately, ICE vehicles with regenerative braking. The big battery allows things to be electric such as power steering and brakes and airconditioning, thus more reliable. I agree that as we no longer have local manufacturers grey imports should be easier, but governments never act out of kindness for the plebs.

    AND I have come to the conclusion that PHEVs are the worst of both worlds, not the other way around. I originally thought they were the answer.

    I have a 13 yr old Camry hybrid and it is an exceptional car. Anyone who says they are strictly ICE only, would enjoy the no fuss extra torque from the hybrid motor when taking off from the lights. Sadly the cheery chirp from the tyres is missing.
