I tell ya what if the Labor party, Teals and Greens are still in control next election, they will probably go after used ICE cars next and make buying and owning one cost more, as much as they want to force the transition (which they shouldn't, it should be entirely up to the consumers on what type of car they drive), they need solutions around affordability when it comes to buying an EV, maybe it's making loans interest-free for EVs? Maybe it's also wiping out the stamp duty?
Then they also really need to get a move on with charging stations in rural areas and while they are at it fix the economy in the rural areas too lolz.
The truth of it though, if they make cost of living more expensive for ICE drivers, some people are just going to choose not to drive.
On another note.
Toyota's invention of the non-plug-in hybrid Prius was a genius idea though, alternate between battery and fuel, charges while it rolls, uses bugger all petrols and gets a lot of range.
