The fundamental problem with our Aus Auto regulation regime
(Comm Transport Dept/DEFAT ) is that the import of used
cars into us has not fundamentally changed since the Auto
Multinationals have closed down car manufacturing in Australia.

The Import restrictions were designed to protect Auto manufacturing
in Aus . In fact since 2018 our import restrictions on used cars has
become more restrictive rather than relaxed and IMO this is primarily
to protect the profits of the new vehicle importers rather than benefit
    The Australian consumer.

Solution: Align our vehicle import regime with that of New Zealand

PS: All we have to do is to recognise/accept Japanese vehicle safety/emissions and vehicle security standards .
