The lions share of the EV market both in manufacture and domestic sales is China. EVs and EV components/materials features prominently in China's Made in China 2025 and devised in 2015. Who says that Government planning doesn't work ? And by the way majority of BEVs sold in Aus is made in China.
PS: the quantum leap in EVs in 2022 is attributable to China coming out of Covid and devising their own chips to counter US sanctions.
