Hi Mudguts
That is untrue.(that used EVs dont retain their value as good as ICEs
Just google the Red Book and you will see that EV
and specifically Toyota Hybrids retain their value better
than their equivalent Toyota ICEs
I realise that many used car dealers who are petrol heads
simply dont want to buy used EV stock but there is a growing market
for good 3-5 year old EVs for Uber /Carshare where cost of ownership
is a wages issue ....not an emotive gig.
eg:
(source The Red Book as published by Drive)
This is specific evidence that Toyota Corolla Hatch Hybrid maintains its
relative value with its equivalent Toyota Corolla Hatch ICE.
So rather than regurgitate which is likely some used car dealer opinions
that have not moved into the 21st C yet, its better to do your own research
and compare apples with apples...not MG EV/Hyrbrids with say Toyota ICEs.
The truth of the matter is:
(a) that in 2013 BEVs and Hybrids made up over 10% of the new car market
. while used BEVs and Hybrids did not and given that the used market size
. is 2-3 times bigger than the new car market.
So in summary, do yourself a favour...do some unbiased reading
rather than fishing for oddball opinions to bolster your personal bias....eh?
