    From this article it may be reasonable to assume that Hydroelectric Power may soon be available in the area .
    I have heard that the Goverment of Senegal is very keen to supply power to all gold mines in the area.
    Sambangalou Dam is very close to the gold mining areas some 25km from Kedegou on The Gambia River.
    We may not have to rely so much on the oil price in the future.
