We dont have enough waste electricity to produce it in a clean way in the quantities required, (never will have)
Countries are creeping away from there green deadlines, not doable. Typical politics they dont have a clue.
By the time that is all sorted the batteries will have advanced so using the electricity directly will be the best way.

Well if you produce all your co2 in the same location, it becomes a perfect candidate for carbon sequestration. Somewhere like Moomba would be a perfect candidate. Gas readily available and Santos is plowing ahead with sequestration in the Cooper Basin.
