You make very valid points that have been well trodden on the Hazer forum, and in essence you have kind of answered your own question..

the theory goes that the use of hydrogen would be similar to diesel currently. and electric motors for petrol at the moment.

having a vehicle that requires massive amounts of energy that can refuel very quickly is hydrogen's forte.. and if you think about hydrogen only from an electrolysis point of view, you will take Elon Musks respective of it being 'monumentally stupid' put the energy into a battery or super capacitor and use 96% of what you generated instead of maybe 50% from water to hydrogen then 50% from hydrogen back to water.

enter Hazer. a company that can take methane and remove the co2 from the methane and make it graphite... (in a nutshell) then instead of this 18x worse greenhouse gas than cO2 entering the atmosphere, it's converted from CH4 into graphite and hydrogen, having very little emissions.. then that can be used in your truck, or bus, or train, or ship... and make the whole cycle of energy carbon negative..

what's not to like. especially when the ch4 source is bio fuel...
