I presume you mean cheaper than electrolysis.
1. 1/7th the energy input for hydrogen output
2. feedstock already available at a natural gas plant
3. smaller footprint for required renewables to power reactor (or use the natural gas or produced hydrogen to heat the reactor.
4. no water supply required.
