    ChatGPT is a bit shaky.

On their website, Graphitic recommends a Forbes article from March, which contradicts the battery piece: "The graphite it makes from carbon isn’t high enough quality for use in things like lithium-ion batteries but is in demand for things like industrial lubricants."

The company itself makes no specific mention of high-end applications, stating: "Graphitic Energy’s solid carbon can enter the graphite value chain at multiple points, including in the steel making process."

Given Graphitic can't use iron ore as their catalyst, it's challenging to see how Hazer could be beaten in steelmaking. Encapsulated catalyst in the graphite can be an advantage, even Hazer's carbon microshells appear suitable for arc furnaces electrodes. There's very high integration potential.

Also, KBR has chosen Hazer exclusively for at least six years. This is very reassuring. After all, Graphitic's demo plant is practically on their doorstep in Texas. It's likely they evaluated Graphtic, but they still chose Hazer.
