The comparison of sources is contaminated by purity or lack of.
Waste gases have some CO2 which is already part of the atmospheric circle so has effectively nil cost.
Natural gas, sometimes with CO2 and others is obviously adding a contaminant to the atmosphere.
Coal seam gas presumably is near pure methane because of it immediate source.
Of course natural gas from stranded sources and/or uneconomical otherwise may have value even if some CO2 is present or can be pumped back down the wells.
