I read somewhere that one kg of hydrogen produces 9 kg of water when used in a fuel cell.
Conversely it takes 9 kg of water to produce 1 kg of hydrogen by electrolysis.
I am not sure if the water use for hydrogen production by the Hazer Process would be the same.
The FMG rep in the video I recently posted was asked if this was an issue given how dry it is in Australia.
He said there was a surprisingly large amount of underground water in most places they operate because they are usually extracting minerals from below the water table.
He said in the interview that the Pilbara had plenty.
I don’t suppose they will be able to recover the water from fuel cell vehicles but for stationary power generation they should.
