Solid-State Lithium batteries will put an end to alternative fuel cars. Hydrogen is expensive, dangerous and not as efficient at storing energy as batteries (takes lots of energy to produce Hydrogen initially).
That ABC article mentions costs of $15/kg of Hydrogen, with average cars having a 5 litre tank = $75 to fill up?? That's expensive compared to EV's where a 100kWH battery at 25c/kw = $25 to charge. And that's if you choose to charge on the grid - EV's can be charged by your home solar system for free! A 5kWH home solar system can half charge your car in a day - for free!
