A Canadian company produced a hydrogen powered bus about the early noughties. Ballard was the company. The bus was sent to Oz and was charging around Perth on a test run. It was completely silent, produced water instead of noxious exhaust fumes, was quick & efficient. I believed at the time that it was to sent to Melbourne and Sydney for further road tests. I don't know what happened to either the bus or Ballard. At the time Mercedes-Benz were a major shareholder in Ballard along with Toyota. M-B were set to produce a fuel cell powered "A" Class motor vehicle for production in about 2005. The whole thing has sunk without trace!
