I understand that trials are underway with respect to as a preventative.

It could work, I hope it does.

I am all for definitive information, however with science I acknowledge that people have to work with what is known at the time.

I fully understand that if you don't have an effective treatment then you need to try something. And a combination of therapies will most likely be the answer.
