What is causing this wild ride down?
I'd say an underlying issue is low volume history/lack of enough institutionals to underpin the price and therefore it has been easier for past price manipulation (both down and up).
Couple this with news stories that are unfairly impacting the business. The uneducated who don't understand enough about the business think for example that "countries cutting Swine Flu vaccines" will negatively impact Biota (who do not produce Swine Flu vaccine) when in reality this is very positive news for Biota.
This makes it easy for swing and day traders to control the price and in turn steers institutionals away.
- Swing Traders are predicting based on past windows of spikes and dips as opposed to sound fundamentals of the Biota business.
- Day traders are creating havoc based on the swing trading and general media hype
- Some small investors who cannot ride the storm are forced to dump
Biota Management can do a lot to fix this problem...
