    Very true but the big question is who would you trust to change it ??

    The pollies would love the job so that they can entrench themselves further into power

    I have seen committees enacted and they are usually composed of well meaning idiots who have a disjointed view of the real world and are usually divorced from it and the people
    Experts for overseas are just as bad
    Plebiscites can be rigged quite easily so the public input is not a 100% cure
    It should be the GG but he has been made impotent

    I see the major problem is that our politicians have removed the public from government thinking and if we are to change anything for the better the system must be changed bit by bit starting with the Swiss system of Recall Elections and major decisions by referendums, both factors would force politicians to take notice of the people or be out of a job

    After that make changes can be made that the majority of the people approve of.
