I quit once for almost 3 years and was silly enough to start up again due to a moment of weakness. A friend always offered me one when I visited him and I always refused. One day I accepted when I was excited about my first home purchase. My fault for the temptation. Then I quit on/off for weeks or months at a time. Always meaning to try again seriously.

Without sounding like a martyr, as I've told still story before, I quit when I had a cardiac about 3 yrs ago (26/7/10).
No direct reason was given as I was only 44. I had a few when I left RPH (Perth) and then looked at them and thought this is showing no respect to the hospital, and my family, as only 15% survive a CA in a medical environment, so I beat poor odds.

And Aug 3 10...I quit. Nothing is stronger than the will.
