there is more stock available on both sides when you look at the combined depth from both ASX and CHIX ( see below ) but there is a lot more hidden depth in the dark pools that we cannot see - look at the course of sales particular all the .25c trades - these are all dark liquidity
re loaning to shorters - a lot of retail punters are unaware their broker or fund manager is lending out there stock - need to read the fine print of your chess holder.
