We don't know if you are an 18 yo without a job, with other financial obligations, etc etc etc. Only you know your personal circumstances. Please keep in mind these forums attract enthusiasts who often talk up a share, only to find the share price falls dramatically within a few hours/days. MEO is one such example.

Just keep in mind one thing. Only you can reduce your debt by paying hard cold cash. Share prices are outside your control and often subjected to manipulation, overzealous purchasing, day trader activity, company news not up to expectation, change in resource price, etc etc etc etc etc.

Only you know what will enable you to sleep at night and whether a debt against an asset which has the potential to be highly volatile is appropriate for you in your own personal circumstances.
