Those after market trades that you saw in SXY were just crossings, probably done at the vWap for the day. Basically the buyer and seller agreed to a trade at the start of the day/week that they would trade x shares for vwap and that was merely the execution once vwap had been established.
It looks like a few large sellers (possibly those hedging their bonds) are holding the stock down a bit while the index-trading funds are slowly chipping away at the offers and picking up their new stock cheap! This would explain while the much bigger offer side is failing to push the stock down at all.
