Alas, I'm not sure how true that would be because if you break a hip or need any medical attention over and above what the ships Doc could provide, you might be turfed out at the next port. Maybe I'm taking what you posted too seriously, or maybe I know from having assisted 2 family members into nursing homes - there is usually a pretty good reason people go to them, basically they are stuffed (either physically or mentally) and need some sort of regular attention. Not for the faint hearted!
