which reminds me of Dr McBride who linked this medication to birth defects. A hero who then doctored his research to find another drug to continue his success. His research assistants blew the whistle on his actions.

Actually, McBride had a great advantage because he was the doctor handing out the thalidomide tablets to his patients. The story isn't quite as wonderful, is it? But the press never reports stuff that spoils a good story, does it?
