If any short positions are in fact being closed it is probably because those holding the positions have made a stack and are either bored, want to lay their hands on the money or maybe move onto their next target. If you posted anywhere else, they'd probably follow you there, in the certain knowledge that doing the opposite of what you suggest would make them another stack.
