You have it in a nutshell.Take futures as an example,they are a great tool for producers and endusers to rationalise their income and expenditure,but they have been taken over by the funny money men who wouldn't know a cow from a sheep and end up ruining the real market.If you neither produce nor use you should not be allowed to trade in them.As for short selling,talk about manipulation.I do not like the increasing use of the phrase "new world order".
