didier,
first of all, there is a general correlation between resources stocks and underline commodity prices. Uranium is no exception.
But they are not always 100% correlated. People are anticipating and speculating. Decoupling always happens from time to time before trend is established. This is the time to make biggest money, or lose the biggest.
Rising $A affecting more on producers, or to much less extended, the near term producer than advanced explorers and explorers. Most uranium hopefuls have just reached the scope study stage. The $A problem will surface in the near future when they have reached in the BFS.
Having said that, keep in mind that a lot of uranium hopefuls has project overseas, such as US, Africa. A lot of countries' currencies is pegged to the greenback. The rising $A actually will help the explorers and advance explorers to get more value for money.
