Hartree could have approached this a dozen different ways but chose the path of greed. They could have simply put a few million in on the first attempt at relisting which only missed by a whisker. Instead, they declined to contribute and refused to participate officially at board level.

Hartree will be well aware that their licence to operate in Tasmania will come under review after these events. Their ability to attract staff will diminish if not disappear, etc. Their loss will be substantial whatever the games they play in administration or liquidation. Given the spleen I have seen come out here in the past few weeks, I suspect some of that spleen will be focussed on anything Hartree attempts to touch in Australia going forward.

Why would the government review a mining licence if the corporate structure of an operation changes? How often has that happened in Tasmania?
