No major data out in the US tonight - Wholesale Inventories tomorrow (10/1) and trade and import data Friday (11/1) but nothing that is mood changing.

I think Alcoa will be the first of the Dow 30 to report their earnings tonight. They are expected to report very good numbers despite the recent weak overall commodity market. If they give dud numbers, expect more punishment on the Dow. With rumours of Countrywide on the verge of filing for bankruptcy going around, even non-eventful days in the US will see volatile sessions IMO.
