Apologies if I am misreading your post, but it sounds like you are suggesting GoforGold has an ulterior motive - perhaps trying to scare a few people out of their shares for his benefit?
You said what has changed to make him sell but wasn't that simple and obvious in the post?

If he was trying to down ramp, wouldn't he have come up with some sort of arguement to plant a seed in people's minds to sell? He clearly has not done this and sounds like it is merely his own investing plan (aside from the wife) that he has decided to sell.
...and he didn't say he wanted the SP to retrace, merely that he wouldn't buy in again unless it did!
Maybe the reason for changing to 'no sentiment' was because he is now a non holder!? I'm sure if he kept it as an 'LT buy' someone else would have questioned his motives and asked that if that was his position, why isn't he a holder!
Perhaps I'm ignorant or naive, but maybe you're trying to make something out of nothing...
