I've travelled far and wide and have been through Melbourne more than my fair share of times.
You can apply my example earlier to all parts of Australia. I only mentioned my day because it is reflective of how I feel about this great country on that day and I'm sure there were similar days enjoyed by all, all over Australia.
Sure we have underlying problems, but I challenge anyone to show me another country in the world without problems.
I do not walk down the street in fear, during day or night. Have you walked through downtown Johannesburg or Barbados at night? Then you will know what fear is! Have you seen the poverty of Asia or Africa? What about the homeless in Los Angeles?
By world standards, we are in the upper bracket of quality of life. Don't get me wrong, I still think we can improve, but in general, I am very happy with the direction Australia is heading.
I'm not living in a cacoon or being unrealistic, I'm just pointing out, what a great nation we have.
