The ownership of the land will always be the problem. In the case of leased land does the failure of the lessee (GTP)make the lease contract null & void and a new lease contract needs to be negotiated or does the lessor assume unfettered control of the land and all that grows withon?
Most of the land purchased by GTP is in higher rainfall areas. This land is currently holding value well. The area involved is large which makes it very attractive to other long term investment groups. If GTP were, and I don't think they wiil, to go under then how will each investor protect their interest. Some may say they would need to register a caveat on the title but I don't know!
As someone said earlier it is better to have 10% of something rather than 100% of nothing.
Say yes and live to your investments reach fruition and be happy in your dotage.
