What makes the notes attractive is not just the interest rate, it is the fact that you are buying at a lower price, hold for a stated amount of time and then can convert into fully paid at a set conversion rate.
In a company that is already producing, has good cash flow and is looking to grow on that very quickly as CBH are, its a pretty good deal.
It is also much cheaper to issue to sophisticated investors due to the requirements.
