Dorimus. 1967, take home pay for a 5 day week $55, paid fortnightly. 2 weeks shopping at Tom the Cheap grocers was enough to feed a family of 5 for $20/$25. Take into consideration that then you paid for your boots, work clothes, watch and if you were an airleg miner you paid for your own explosives & dets. We have come a long way from there, good & bad. Nowhere as physical as it used to be ( didnt have to go to the gym after work ) but then a 37 and a half hour week compared to a 12 plus hour day today. A lot less injuries & fatalities in todays world, you cant beat that.
