    doubling of capital gains tax woudl only occur from the date it was implemented (doubtful it would be retrospective) and he has to get it through the senate, so it woudl be at least 12 months off

    I would be surprised if there was a selloff, you don't necessarily want to sell assets at the bottom of a market, and if they are producing good returns then keep them for a while.
