as at 28/9 the accum level was over 20m shares or 2.86% of market cap. For the 29th and 30th (21.39% & 42.09%) short sales were quite a lot of turnover so this may have increased.
What is interesting is that although short sales were 42% of turnover on the 30th PDN actually increased 4.5cents that day. I would have expected with such a high % of shorts the price to drop.
