I think the term 18x more efficient is used on a Sqkm basis of suitable ground for both companies and technologies.

Nearly 85% of known coal reserves are unmineable with surface mining techniques."
Who knows what percentage of that is suitable for UCG but I'll estimate that it would still be 18x more efficient and productive than CBM or CSG. At this stage its only a guesstimate so it could end up being more.... or less? time will tell.
UCG syngas can also be used in many more applications than CBM or CSG.
