A tough year to be turning 18 …… if she wants a few sunny sides to make her feel better.
At least she will be out drinking and partying by 19 …. In the US would still have few more years to 21.
On being ostracized for a few weeks - bummer for those few weeks - but at least it will pass quickly.
There's plenty of doctors & nurses that have been ostracized by both friends and family for the foreseeable future with most of the population just so sheet scared of COVID19 and despite them using all the right precautions they still feel they are a risk of maybe carrying it. It's going to a be a very lonely 6/12/18 months for them.
