The account I got last week from Jill Thomas, OEL's Investor Relations, squares with yours Avarian. While she did comment that she didn't have an engineering background she went on to explain something to the effect that: 'somebody appeared to have got a bit too busy with a paintbrush and paint had been applied inside a thread where it shouldn't have, and that interfered with the two parts coming together as they should'. There was also a reference to a distance of 'about 8 inches' (she has an American accent!) as being critical in reassembling the components on the sea floor and the earlier vessel couldn't do it with any sort of surface swell running. A. Parks told me they also needed to lift it from the sea floor and wash the underside with a water jet before attempting the reassembly. He added that process was very simple and routine.
