note the date --------- pre covid (well, pre what covid has turned out to be)

this is what is happening in Australia - just briefly - but, we should be aware that this is winter and Covid led us into winter

coming out of lockdown, going back to work in spring -- scooter demand is going to skyrocket --

laws in Oz are already being changed thanks to demand - IMO - that demand is going to be massive

the same thing happened in France ------------- before I left - when I researched bikes and similar - no machine in France was legal on the road or footpath without being registered as a motor vehicle - IF it had power of any kind

since then - laws seem to have been completely dumped and, now you see scooters and elec bikes everywhere - and, no, not just on roads - footpaths, town squares - everywhere.
Since the release from lockdown - the demand has gone stratospheric -------------

I seriously doubt if Oz is that different -------- which makes me think of the two obvious things ------- parking and power

parking is a big deal - some of these scooters are heavy - many would be between 15 and 20 or more kilos - now, even if you've got an elevator to your office and space to put the thing next to your desk - you have to get it to the elevator - you might just wheel it - but, if you have to carry it any distance or up stairs - it's a big deal

also, if you needed to drag something like 10 Kw out of the power grid - well - that's the equivalent of running a bar heater on full wack for almost 5 hours - that's a hefty lot of power

10kwh would be a massive and heavy battery - most scooters are under 0.7kwh.

I’ve got a electric pedelec mountain bike - just use for mountain biking rather than commuting. Mind you, I’ve been working from home since early March so no chance to commute. My bike has a 0.7kwh battery - putting it on full power would make an easy commute. But do I want to use the work showers in a COVID world?
