Was in Adelaide last year when the fringe and womad was on and they had a trial of the e scooters, while they are convenient and fun if you have some coordination think there are many risks that will inhibit their success. Like the o bikes in melb they were lying every where just dumped by the user where they finished. They need to make charging docks where user gets discount for parking in the dock. Increasing speed on footpath past 10kph is foolish and dangerous to elderly, think obease drunk/drug affected youth will ride responsibly? Bike paths ok but many places dont have well developed bike paths. In adelaide as i was out late saw drunk people yahooing down the middle of main roads with the traffic, did not see any stacks but main problem i see will be litigation issues. Public hazard > public benefit imo. Covid days adds another massive obstacle hygiene. May work in canberra as low population and more modern infrastructure but cant see it going far in melb.
