I believe with the initiation of the rewards system, this may already be in the pipeline. Potentially assessing data to see if they can target the merchants with high volume from their initial tap and pay promo, and then broker a cashback deal. On their rewards section of the app, they haven't returned what you spent, it's just dormant til the next promo.
it was already targeted with BP, Oporto and red rooster.
i also wonder if they're getting revenue from clicks from their app to the merchant... As an affiliate to the merchant, similar to how Google ads works.
