If you have money to spend and rates won't effect you then there is opportunity every where you need to look for it.
In my opinion I don't see rates coming down any time soon and there is more pain to come if you ask me keep your eye on inflation and the US if they raise rates next year not to mention a lot of fixed rate borrowers becoming variable rate borrowers.
My sisters boss bought a mansion in LA USA for $350K usd, which was a bargin apparently.
Shane Oliver the AMP economist thinks property prices are about 30% over valued, however due to imergration the fall will be limited to 10 to 15%. Time will tell.
